Every Friday, Kristen over at the The Frugal Girl posts a picture of her food waste. She invites other bloggers to join in her effort to save money and reduce the amount of food that gets thrown away in our country every day.
Apparently peer pressure does not work that well on me.
I joined The Frugal Girl‘s Food Waste Friday posts in the hopes that I would reduce my food waste by shaming myself on the internet. Well, I believe I have done that, to an extent, but I still regularly waste things, and have very few waste-free posts. In this weeks lineup:
Left: Some pre-made polenta. It’s good, but this is the second time I’ve bought this, opened it, and made it once. So, that’s it for that.
Right: Half a loaf of spent brewing grain bread. No, I did not make it myself, I purchased it. And no one in the family really cared much for it, so now it’s a science experiment.
And to boot neither of these can go into the compost because of the fats/oils. Phooey!
