Building Community

This past Saturday, my husband and a neighbor brewed the beer for our yearly neighborhood block party.  Brew from two neighbors, BBQ from another, and raffles from local businesses – it’s definitely a local affair.  We invited anyone from the neighborhood over to check out the brewing process and socialize.

Of course there was some sampling of the wares.  But my friends, this was not the real entertainment.  The real show was behind the garage…

The neighborhood kids could not get enough of the chickens!  I kid you not – those birds hardly touched the ground for hours.  It was great to see the chickens getting socialized this much, and I’m pretty sure I created a few future chicken keepers…

Seriously, it was a good day.
