Every Friday, Kristen over at The Frugal Girl posts a picture of her food waste. She invites other bloggers to join in her effort to save money and reduce the amount of food that gets thrown away in our country every day.
This week’s waste – black beans and a little kielbasa sausage. We froze this in way too large of a container, and managed to eat only about half of it before it was really too far gone. Next time we’ll freeze in multiple packages so we don’t waste so much.
It’s a shame because it really was good!
How did you do this week?
Too bad about the black beans and sausage. However, you learned to use smaller containers, so it was valuable in that way.
I have a compulsion to buy fresh cilantro. My wife won’t eat it so I always throw it out. I think the California Cilantro Growers Association has named a warehouse after me or something.
We grow our own cilantro and it’s pretty easy. If you put it in a nice wide container it will self-sow, which is good, because it bolts really fast.
