It’s been a little while since I gave you guys a tour of my garden. The herb garden is looking pretty good…
…as is the back garden…
…and the asparagus bed is nicely ferned out.
There’s a little pop of color…
…and a few promises of sweetness to come.
All in all, I’m a fairly proud garden mama. 🙂
Here’s my ID Challenge update. This week’s update is going to be catch-up of a few weeks, so some of the lists might be a little longer…
Plant Something: Some cloned basil
Harvest Something: Herbs, lettuce, green beans, sugar snaps, kohlrabi, zucchini, black beans, cherry tomatoes, my first slicing tomato (!!)
Preserve Something: Froze some green beans
Waste Not: There has been some waste around here in the last few weeks, but I’ve been doing a pretty good job of using up produce and fruit in smoothies.
Want Not: Stocked up on items from the conventional grocery, laundry supplies.
Eat the Food: Chili from CSA ground beef, my first grilled cheese with tomato of the season, super-duper scavenger mode
Build Community Food Systems: Hmmm, no.
Skill Up: Currently working on whole wheat muffins that rise better. Stay tuned for progress.
What are you doing to build your independence?
